How to Install Your MaxVu Wall Graphic

Installing a MaxVu wall graphic is easier than most people think — especially when you’re working with a clean, smooth surface. Our dry installation method gives you a crisp, bubble‑free finish without needing water, sprays, or complicated tools.

Why Use the Dry Installation Method?

  • Fast installation — no waiting for surfaces to dry
  • Clean removal — our removable vinyl peels off without damaging paint
  • Precise placement — great for personalized graphics with names and numbers
  • No mess — perfect for bedrooms and indoor spaces

Tools You’ll Need

  • Squeegee or Substitute: A credit card or driver’s license works perfectly.
  • Painters Tape: Helps with alignment and creating a hinge.
  • Scissors: Useful for trimming small sections of backing.
  • Rolling Pin (Optional): Great for applying even pressure.
  • Clean Cloth or Wipes: Removes dust, oils, and fingerprints.
  • Level (Optional): Helps ensure straight placement.

Before You Begin

  • Clean: Wipe away dust, oils, and fingerprints.
  • Dry: Moisture can trap bubbles.
  • Smooth: Textured walls may reduce adhesion.
  • Fully cured paint: Wait 30 days after painting.

Step‑by‑Step Installation

1. Position Your Graphic

Hold the graphic up to the wall and check placement. Use painter’s tape to temporarily hold the top edge in place. This creates a hinge that keeps your alignment perfect.

2. Peel the Backing

Lift the graphic from the bottom and slowly peel away the backing paper. Only expose a few inches of adhesive at a time.

3. Apply from the Center Outward

Press the exposed adhesive onto the wall using your hand or a squeegee. Work from the center outward in smooth, firm strokes.

4. Continue Downward

Peel more backing as you go, applying the graphic section by section.

5. Smooth the Entire Graphic

Once fully applied, go over the entire surface again with your hand or squeegee.

Pro Tips

Install in Small Sections

Trim a 1–2 inch strip of backing from the top to anchor the graphic, then continue downward in controlled sections.

Install Name & Number Separately

If your graphic includes personalization, cut the name/number off the main sheet. Install the main graphic first, then place the name and number exactly where you want them.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Peeling all the backing at once
  • Not cleaning the surface
  • Installing on fresh paint
  • Skipping alignment tools
  • Applying too fast

Troubleshooting Bubbles

  • Small bubbles: Press outward with your thumb or squeegee.
  • Stubborn bubbles: Use a clean pin to release air.
  • Large bubbles: Lift the vinyl gently and reapply.
  • Edge bubbles: Press firmly along the edges.

Best Surfaces for Installation

  • Painted walls (fully cured)
  • Windows and glass
  • Doors
  • Mirrors
  • Lockers

Avoid: heavily textured walls, brick, stucco, or damp environments. These types of walls is not recommended for Vinyl.
